Time Between: The Private Group Guidelines and FAQs
These are the new guidelines (not rules) for time_between as a Private Role Playing Group:
The Guidelines.
1) Don’t God Mod. We don’t think any of you will, but just as a big fat reminder.
2) If you are having a problem with another player, please come and tell us. Again we really don’t expect that this will happen, but if it does, there will be problems. Refer to the contact list for who to contact.
3) Keep your characters real. The application/profile has been pared down to barely anything, we expect that everybody that has been invited to this RP can write, we don’t need to read a big long history if you don’t want to write one. We do expect your character to remain In character. No Werewolves Imprinting on Vampires, you hear?
4) Plot? What Plot? Yes, some of it’s going to be fluffy nonsense for our enjoyment only. That’s what we’re here for. But we’ll continue to have some plot-group wide. It’ll just be pared down from the game ideas we had for the original game.
5) There are still four ways for your character to participate in the community:
Threads and Logs are to be posted in time_between. These are to be written in third person, no exceptions.
Journal entries are to be posted in your own Journal. These are internet blogs that've caught on as the newest way to communicate quickly. Things can be posted publicly, put under a 'Private' cut, or a 'Filtered' cut. Please be aware that the filtered cuts should be specific, for example "Pack Members" rather than "Embry's Friends" or "The Volturi Guard" rather then "Vampires" (unless the post can be read by only and all Vampires).
Instant Message conversation logs should be posted in time_between
Emails can be sent to other characters. These should be posted in the person's own journal, clearly indicating that it is an EMAIL and not an Entry. It's suggested these get put under a cut with the subject line of 'EMAIL'.
Please use this when posting Threads or Logs intime_between:
HOWEVER you do NOT have to write entries if you do not want to. There is NO posting limit. Play as much or as little as you want to, but be kind, if you don’t want to play the character anymore DROP it if you don’t want it anymore. Muse’s come and go, nobody’s going to get angry at you for having to drop a character for whatever reason.
6) We still need to know if you’re heading out of town or going on a hiatus, just let us know, we’re all friends here.
7) There is no character limit, but WE WOULD LOVE YOU DEARLY if you didn’t play all female characters. Or at least, don’t hog them all. Please be open to playing males.
8) Try and choose a variety of characters that aren’t too closely related. Yeah, we’re being a bit hypocritical with this one, but at least pretend to try.
9) Applications are now called ‘Profiles’. We expect you to fill one out when you decide to bring in a new character. It’s not as extensive as the old one and it’ll be quicker to fill out, as mentioned earlier. We’re still going to be picky about PB’s though, sorry. If we don’t like the one you’ve selected we may ask you to find another one. (FYI: The moderators dislike the faces of: Megan Fox, Cintia Dicker and Jessica Stam, they will Always be a big fat NO.)
10) HAVE FUN DAMNIT. That’s why we’re doing this!
Frequently Asked Questions
Game Play Questions:
Where are we in the Twilight Series?time_between is an Eclipse compliant game. We are disregarding Breaking Dawn.
But..but...what about Renesmee?! Breaking Dawn, much like the epilogue in The Deathly Hallows, nobody much likes to acknowledge it exists, and we at time_between believe if we ignore it hard enough, it never happened.
But what about Jacob? And his imprinting?! Sorry. Jacob will have to get over Bella and move on. And imprint on somebody who's not a fetus.
What about that Amazon Boy that Alice goes off and finds? He's a halfy-hybird of a human and a Vampire? He doesn't exist in time_between and neither does his mother, father or sisters.
But what if Bella and Edward have sex before Bella's turned? She has to get pregnant. No, she doesn't. If Rosalie's ovaries stopped working, just like the rest of her internal organs, Edward's sperm isn't happily swimming around in an ice box. No vampires will be impregnating any humans. End of story.
Will Bella be turned then? How's that going to happen? This will be something discussed amongst the players who play Edward and Bella and the mods. Much like the wedding, it will be a plot that more then just the two players are involved in.
Holy crap Maria's back? Yes, Maria is back, and back with a vengeance. This time she doesn't want to claim the south, but she wants to take on the Volturi.
General Out Of Character Questions:
Well are there any Played By's you don't want at all? Yes. Myspace Celebrities, Suicide Girls, Underwear/Pornographic Models (Victoria Secret, Suicide Girls or otherwise), heavily pierced or tattooed people. Models who suffer from 'Model Face' will be accepted on a case by case basis. We're also enforcing the 7/3 year rule. Your Played by's age must be no older then 7 years of your character's age and no younger then 3. For example, Taylor Momsen who is fifteen will not be playing a 21 year old. There may be a few exceptions made, inquire if you have any questions, but it is unlikely we'll bend on this rule.
I want to create a brand new character that's not listed, can I? There is little chance that we'll say yes, but feel free to inquire.
I want one of my characters to be with a character who's in a canon relationship, Bella and Jacob belong together! Sorry, characters within canon relationships will stay that way unless there is a reason for them to be parting ways. This will have to be discussed with the mods beforehand and will be carefully considered. There are very few instances where the mods will be flexible with this, especially with main canon pairings such as the Cullens (ex: Carlisle and Esme splitting up). Please visit the Pre-Established Relationships Page for more information. Note: All imprintee's will remain imprinted on. There is no reverse process for this and so once a character has been imprinted upon, that's it folks, there's no going back.
Can I create a homosexual character if the character is not in a canon relationship? Possibly. It will depend on the character and how you write them. This game is slash and femeslash friendly but within reason. Just like we expect all of our characters to have believable relationships, heterosexual and homosexual alike, we expect that all characters have reason behind any homosexual tendencies and a well thought out and written background.
Oh heeeey, what's the deal with strikeouts and this game? Every game is different you know. Yes, every game is different, but because these characters are speaking to each other on the computer, strike outs are something that they've typed and then deleted, making them illegible. Strikeouts cannot be read.
